Member Of The Month: Georgia

How long have you been a SBF member?

Since round 4 I’m not sure how long that is?!?

(that’s about 5 years)

What’s one thing (either health related or not) that you learned in the last month?

I keep learning that there are always ways to improve myself and to push myself further ♥️

What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?

Oooo a fun fact! My beautiful grandmother was a stenographer for Menzies!

If you could choose anyone in the world as a mentor, who would it be?

I have been lucky enough to have my Aunty Nell. She was a second mum to me and taught me lots about being there for other people looking after myself etc.

She was a great old school cook too, so I watched her as a kid and try to mimic her style.

She’s gone now but I often think about her and what she would do in a certain situation.

What’s one habit / skill / goal that you’re currently working on?

I’m currently putting my mind to how I can better manage confrontation.

As a kid there was lots of abuse in my childhood and I really don’t deal with confrontation well, I get very emotional and shut down. So yeah that’s something I want to do better.

What’s a mistake you made early in your life that taught you a lot?

Letting people treat me badly or take advantage of me because I didn’t no how to say no because I wanted to be accepted .

I have since learned the value of self preservation. I have worked really hard to have the skill to not be bothered about what other people think of me or how I act etc.

It can be hard sometimes but I refuse to let other people’s opinions of me rule my life.

I will not put myself in a situation that is going to affect my mental health. The people that I have in my circle know that about me and they love me for who I am and that’s enough for me.

If you could only eat one SBF meal or snack for a whole month, what would it be?

I love the turkey meatballs with sweet potato mash, it’s just so healthy and at the same time a really comforting meal

What’s your favourite quote?

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and loved more than you know.

What motivates you to stay healthy?

Definitely my mental health. I have had some rough times in my life and I just never want to feel the way I did 18 months ago. It was not a nice place to be.

If you could be anyone else in the world for a day, who would it be and why?

This is a bit boring but I don’t think I could be anyone else. I’m still learning to be me.

A half baked chocolate cake as one of my psychologists once told me!

How will you spend your retirement?

With my husband in a caravan touring!

What’s the meaning of life?

Gosh, I think just live your life for you and do the best you can under any circumstances.

If you need help ask for it and don’t ever feel ashamed to ask.

I can help you achieve your health and fitness goals too!
